In addition to any assistance Financial Partners can provide, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sponsors certain housing counseling agencies that provide free or low-cost housing counseling throughout the country.  Please telephone 1.800.569.4287 to locate and contact the nearest counseling agency in your area. 

Six General Steps to Help Avoid Foreclosure

1.  Do not ignore the foreclosure situation.
2.  Contact your lender as soon as you realize there is a potential of foreclosure action.  
3.  Respond to all correspondence from your lender. 
4.  Recognize your individual mortgage rights. 
5.  Understand your foreclosure options and discuss them with your lender. 
6.  Contact a HUD-approved housing counselor.
